PLAY
The object of the play is to win the points of the contract bid
by the declarer's team. Each trick consists of six
cards, one played by each player on the table with the named side
up and visible to other players. The player on the left of the dealer
makes the first opening lead and thereafter the winner of each trick
leads the next trick. A player must follow the suit to the first
card led in that trick, if available in his/her hand. If not, a player
may play any card including a trump card. The trick in won by the player
who plays the highest ranked card in the suit or trump card. If there is
more than one trump card, the highest trump card wins the trick.
Because of the duplicate cards from two packs, the
card played first has a higher value than a same type of card played
in the same trick. For example, a "P" of Spades led by an earlier
player has a higher rank than a 'P' of Spades led by another player.
Each player should not show the cards in his/her hand to any other player
including his/her partner. Unlike the Bridge game, there is no dummy
in this White House Gaim.
The tricks are collected, bunched and piled on with the named side
down by one player in each team. After collecting the trick, opposite team cannot look at different cards kept bunched. There are 8 tricks in total.
SCORING
As mentioned earlier, the maximum points for bidding is 56 points,
the total points from all the suits. ie. (8 x 3 (P) = 24) + (8 x
2 (M) = 16) + (8 x 1 (S) = 8) + (8 x 1 (D) = 8) + (8 x 0 (N) = 0)
+ (8 x 0 (R) = 0) = 56. Each team counts the points they get in
different tricks at the end of each play.
REWARD
The reward of each play depends on the points the declarer finally
declares. If he/she wins, he gets the reward from the opposite team
or if he/she loses, his/her team gives the reward to the opponents. Each
team can have 12 poker chips or 12 cards from the remaining cards
in the decks, hereby known as 'base chips'.

When doubled, the reward doubles the number
of base chips above and when redoubled, the reward quadruples. When
the base chips run out, you may make your own rules for the return
of the base chips to the losing team.
BIDDING RULES
The players should not convey information about the cards in their hands by any means except through certain bidding rules. Each player, during the bidding, is allowed to convey some information about the values of the cards in his/her hand to the partners (and also to the opponents) by using specific terms. Also, there are certain general criteria to bid properly. The properly bid partners can raise the bidding points higher, sometimes even to 56.
A 'no-trump' bid should contain the bidding points first and then the word 'no-Trump'. (Ex. 34 no-trump). A named suit (Ex. Clubs, Spades, Diamonds or Hearts) bid may contain the bidding point first, then a specific appropriate bidding term to show the value in the bidder's hand and the followed by the name of the suit if there are higher ranking cards in the suit. (Ex. 32 one-plus clubs) or the name of suit first, then the bidding point and then the specific appropriate bidding term if there are only lower ranking cards in the suit (Ex. Hearts 29 plus one). The latter one is known as reserve bid. It is not compulsory to use the bidding terms, but the bidding points and the name of the suit should be called. If bidding term is used, then the bidder should follow the rules for bidding terms given below.
The above rules apply to opening suit bids and responses by partners. an opening bid of no-trump is expected to be made when the bidder has about 4 'P' s in his/her hand. A named suit may be opened as a trump with at least 4 cards in a suit including the highest ranking card namely 'P'. If the opening bidder has no 'P', has 4 cards including a
'M' in a suit then he/she may bid in reverse the name of the suit first and then the points (Ex. Clubs 30). If the player on the left side of the dealer makes the initial opending bid, he/she may say 28 points, followed by either no trump-or a named suit. If this opening bidder wants to bid more than 28 points, Ex. With 2 'P's and 1 'M', his/her bidding will be 30 points instead of 31 points, ie. He/She has to count the number 28 also. Other bidders will have to raise their bidding at least by one point. Those who want to write down the bidding, may do so in a piece of paper.
