WHITEHOUSEGAIM I

PLAYERS
This card game is ideal for 4 or 6 players, in two teams, partners sitting alternatively.

CARDS
The owners have not manufactured or marketed the cards for Whitehouse Gaim yet. However, you could play the Whitehouse Gaim with ordinary playing cards available in the market. You need one deck of playing cards. Take out 9 cards (preferable the higher cards) each from Spades, Clubs, Hearts and Diamonds from the deck. With a marker pen, write down P, M, S, D, A, T, N, R and I in the inner face of one card at a time in each suit (Spades, Clubs, Hearts or Diamonds). Then, there are 4P, 4M, 4S, 4D, 4A, 4T, 4N, 4R and 4I, total of 36 cards. Each suit has the following 9 cards with points.

Unlike the Bridge Game, there are no difference in the ranks between the four suits, namely Clubs, Spades, Diamonds and Hearts.
For 4 players discard the four I cards, then the total cards will be 32, but the total points remain 28. For 6 players, use all the 36 cards.

PRELIMINARIES
After the dealer shuffles, the player on the right of the dealer cuts the pack and then the dealer deals the cards. Before the game begins, it should be decided how many plays to complete or how long the game should be. One game consists of 4 or 6 plays. One game may take 30 to 40 minutes depending on the players' ability.

DEAL
For 4 players, 8 cards for each player, dealt face down 4 cards at a time. For 6 players, 6 cards for each player, dealt face down 3 cards at a time. Shuffling and dealing are done clockwise after each play.

AUCTION
The lowest bidding is 14 points and the highest 28 points. The bidding is clockwise beginning with the player on the left of the dealer. He/she has to bid at least 14 points (mandatory). Each player may bid at least on more point when his/her turn comes or he /she can pass. The bidding is for two turns and ends with the first bidder. A partner cannot bid over the bidder unless an opponent has bid over the bidder. The bidder says only the points without mentioning the trump suit. The final bidder keeps one trump card faced down on the table. The players should not convey information about the cards in their hands by any means.

PLAY
The object of the play is to win the points bid by the bidder. Each trick consists of 4 or 6 cards, one played by each player. The player on the dealer's left makes the opening lead and thereafter the winner of each trick leads the next trick. Each player must follow the suit of the first card led in that trick if available in his/her hand. If a player doesn't have a card in the same suit, he/she may ask the bidder to reveal the trump card or he/she may choose not to ask to reveal the trump card and play any other card. When the trump card is revealed, the player who has asked to reveal, should play a trump card if available in his/her hand, otherwise he/she can play any other card. The bidder should not reveal the trump card in the trump suit unless the trump card has been revealed already or he/she has only the trump cards in his/her hand. If the bidder doesn't have a card in the suit led by another player, he/she can choose to reveal the trump card or lead any other card.

Each trick is won by the player who plays the highest ranking card in that suit or any card in the trump suit. Even the lowest ranking card in the trump suit can win over the highest ranking cards in other suits. If there is more than one trump card in a trick, the highest ranking trump card wins the trick. The first card led, can win a trick if nobody else has any cards in the same type of suit or trump suit. One player in each team collets the tricks and bunches them face down. At the end of the play, the bidder counts the points of the cards his/her team has collected. After collecting the tricks, one team cannot look at the different cards kept bunched by the other team except with the permission of the other team.

REWARD
If the bidder wins the points he/she bid, he/she gets the reward from the opposite team. If the bidder fails to win the points he/she bid, then he/she gives the opposite team the reward. Poker chips or paper or plastic 'money' cards can be used as reward. Each team should have 7 chips at the beginning
